Sweet Wines for Cheese

Does Tesco stock any interesting dessert wines for serving with cheese? Not port so much - I was thinking more along the lines of Sauternes or Coteaux du Layon.

Thanks a bunch!

Sorry to take so long to get back to you - I was chatting your request through with a friend of mine who is studying for her wine diploma last night and she suggested a sweet Italian called Recioto della Valpolicella Classico DOC. Recioto is the style…completely dried grapes are fermented and they’re so concentrated that the wine remains a sweetie. She also suggested an Alsacian Gewurztraminer which goes really well with Munster or other soft creamy cheeses like epoisses.
Tesco can help with the Alsace Gewurz but sadly not the Recioto. But also - don't forget about Sherry - González Byass Matusalem Very Old Sweet Oloroso would be scrummy with rich cheeses. Options options...

I really like this one, well chilled, with blue cheese or mature hard cheeses:
Concho y Toro Otorio Late Harvest Sauvignon Blanc
A great price too!

Thanks for your replies. As far as I'm aware there's only one shop here in Edinburgh that stocks a Recioto and it's waaayy over my budget.

Alsace Gewurz with Epoisses sounds LUSH!

Might try the Chilean number first though - the tasting note says it comes with a "special feeling" Big Grin

There has been some fantastic recommendations here already, but here is one of mine..
Tesco Finest* Autumn Picked Riesling - this lychee, and candied lime style Riesling has enough sweetness to balance any salty tangs from stronger, creamier cheeses, but enough freshness to balance the rich textures, which gives a gorgeous contrasting harmony- give it a go!

Not to everbody's tast but I think a sweet Marsala is fabulous with cheese - goes especially well with Gorgonzola, Dolcelatte and other blus cheeses.

Personally I don't often drink sweet wine with cheese but Moscatel de Valencia could work well.
