Wine and rugby league

I was intrigued to learn that French rugby league international David Ferriol owns and operates a vineyard 70 miles north of Perpignan. The Catalan Dragons prop forward is very much a 'hands on' winemaker and sells regionally under the brand Dragon Spirit. Rugby league forwards are not known for their subtlety, particularly one as uncompromising as Ferriol who has had more than his fair share of red cards on the rugby field, but clearly he has a creative and gentle side. I wondow how may other winemakers have somewhat incongruous interests?

Whilst not being ‘hands on’ I think that the Beckhams own some vineyards and think that Nick Faldo has a wine label..Those are the only British sportsmen I’m aware of , but perhaps other members will know more? I have a feeling Ian Botham and Alan Lamb do something as well..
Have any of the community tried a celebrity wine? Non sporting Celebrity wine makers that I can think of from the top of my head are Sir Cliff Richard and Francis Ford Coppola..

PS I'm not sure what a Congruous part time profession would be for a wine maker, but I did meet one once who was an ex Bio-chemist which fits the bill a little..

I think I read about Drew Barrymore being involved with a winery recently...
