How do you like your Rosés?

Summer is the time for rosés - at least it would be if it stopped raining. I'd be interested in other people's ideas about rosés. Personally, I usually find the paler ones more to my liking. Tesco's Finest Grenache Rosé is delicious, with a slight bitterness in the aftertaste, which I always seek in whites and rosés. Deep pinks tend to put me off, although they're sometimes OK. Anything which describes itself as tasting of boiled sweets is to be avoided!

Rosé Champagne? I know many people who like it but I prefer mine white.

I've had to put a stop to drinking Tesco Finest Navarra Garnacha Rose (£ 6.99). Its just too easy to drink - like a lovely fruit soft drink for kids, But if you read the label it says 12.5% ABV. Just too good - it should be banned.

They got me into it via one of those meal deals for two for a tenner. I think dealers do the same to get people hooked on the harder stuff.

Don't let your kids near this stuff.

I don't.

I love both red and white wines, but have not ever found a rosé that I didn't want to spit out immediately.

I used to be like you, Westonlad, but over the last few years I've discovered some really appealing rosés such as the Tesco's Finest mentioned above, some of the subtler rosés from Provence, Bandol (which I can't afford) and Cassis (which I've never seen in this country - not the blackberry liqueur but the appellation) and the odd one made from cabernet sauvignon or cabernet franc.

I adore Rose on hot summer afternoons. Current favourites are: Tesco Finest Nero d'Avola Rose which is dark and quite fruity and the much paler Ogio Pinot Grigio Rose. I usually prefer the lighter wines but the Sicilian is exceptional.

I struggled to find a rose I liked for years but recently started drinking it and found its my favourite tipple! Perfect for summer drinking with a bbq... I much prefer the darker pinks to the paler ones though.

I'm with you Danckwerts: Pale, dry and even slightly savoury.

Anything made from Pinot Noir or anything from Cote de Provence usually works for me.
