Penfolds Bin 138 2007
A Blend of Grenache (64%), Mourvedre (21%) and Shiraz (15%) make up this lovely South Australian Barossa Valley, Bin 138, Red Rhone Blend.
Nice Ruby colour with a slight lighter tinge on the rim. Plenty of Fruit including Cherry and Raspberries on the nose mainly from the Grenache also minty chocolate and liquorice.
Taste - Again fruity, no real oak influence as the barrels used are 3-5 years old. Raspberry and Cherry dominant and a little sweet spice coming from the Shiraz almost like a Cherry liquor.
Penfolds along with Yalumba are my favourite Australian wines and this is up there with the good ones.
