Tesco Wine Community

Im only a recent member of the community, but have really enjoyed contributing so far. However one thing I have noticed is there is not an easy way of providing feedback on the site - hence this post!

I'd like to propose an easier way of providing feedback within the community. A simple 'contact us' would suffice, or why not a new discussion section so that other community users can comment and grade suggestions?

I find it annoying that users cannot post to Tescos own 'Latest from us' section without registering with another site - Disqus. Why cannot our Community login be used?

Finally, someone also needs to proof-read Tesco's contributions to the site! e.g Five favourites but only four listed:

Welcome to the Wine Community Westonlad! We’re so pleased to hear that you’ve enjoyed contributing - we’ve very much enjoyed your fantastic posts and noticed how quickly you’ve reached Gold member status!

We love your idea on creating a ‘contact us’ page or discussion post for the community and are looking into implementing this as will allow us to get invaluable feedback from you all.

Unfortunately at the moment we have two separate platforms for members and guests to contribute to the community, with an exclusive discussion area for members only, which is why there are separate logins. We recognise this can make things difficult for our members to contribute and we’ll definitely explore some different options.

Thanks for pointing out the mistake this must have slipped the net and we’ve updated the post!

Thanks,

Liliane

I wholeheartedly agree with Westonlad's point about the frustration of having to register separately in order to comment on your 'Latest from Us' posts. Quite frankly this additional step has put me off commenting via that route - and it looks like the paucity of comments against those posts (relative to the numbers in the main discussion area of the community) is indicative that I am not alone in that respect.

I'm also enjoying the 'Community', people seem enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
One suggestion is there anyway of providing an 'Edit' on our replies, sometimes you realise you have made a mistake after posting, it would be nice to go back and correct it.

I like the edit idea - I've just left a post elsewhere - and realised its full of typos (I can spell really).

Sorry, still not sure where to post general questions.

Just heard from someone......Is there a 25% off Olympic promotion when buying 6 or more bottle in all your stores starting the 25/7/12

I agree with above comments, in my short time on the forum it desperately needs a 'General comments' or 'Contact Us' section.

Sorry to go on but i submitted a duplicate post by accident on the switching from red to white thread on 'Wine made simple' and had no way of editing or deleting it, would be nice if we had some control even if it's just 'Edit'
Thanks

Good idea to start this thread. The idea and intention of the site is good but the execution is poor. There are many 'standard' forum or blog set-ups which are much more user friendly. Issues I have:-

- difficulty I and others have at joining/activating the account; you get there in the end but many people will I'm sure give up.

- lack of edit function; on many sites you can re-edit your posts for a certain period of time.

- compatability issues with certain operating systems/web browsers; I use linux/Firefox and I don't 'see' certain things on the site e.g. the log in box.

- lack of a contacts/feedback section; particularly for technical aspects of the site. I think the site has been set up for Tesco by people in Australia.

Regards

Ian

I agree that being able to edit our replies would be a good idea, sometimes in my haste to give feedback etc I can miss out words which makes my reply sound a bit daft!! :-)

Hi Liliane, are there any plans to make it easy to post pictures.

Sorry, Just another little moan. It would be nice to have the reply box immediately under the last post so it makes it easier to refer to.
